Avoiding Burnout, and Other Good Reading
Like many others, working to help dogs and cats or all animals or make the world a better place is tough on us. Please remember to take a break for awhile--do something nice for yourself, allow yourself time to heal. Otherwise we are "broken" and can't help animals at all.
Some good books to help us out:
1. Organizing for Social Change--Midwest Academy Manual for Activists by Kim Bobo, Jackie Kendall and Steve Max
2. Doing Democracy--the MAP Model for Organizing Social movements by Bill Moyer
3. The Activists Handbook by Randy Shaw
4. Slapp Lawsuits--Getting Sued for Speaking Out by George Pring and Penelope Canan
