National Missing Pet Alert Network

I run the National Missing Pet Alert Network, which is similar to the Amber Alert except it is for pets that have gone missing. I am writing to ask you if would consider being part of this wonderful group. I know that everyone is so busy and life has so many demands but I could certainly use more contacts in various areas throughout the US and you can help. It is very simple and there is no membership fee or anything else except CARING. The only thing that I ask of you, is that you agree to forward out information to anyone that you may know in the area of a missing pet alert that I broadcast and check the site periodically to see if there are updates. If you do not know anyone in the area, then we ask that you say a tiny prayer instead. No pressure at all but a loving network of people willing to spread the word about a missing pet.

> Time is of the essence when a pet goes missing so our goal is to get the word out as soon as possible. When someone posts about a missing pet on the site, I get the notification. I launch an almost immediate MISSING PET ALERT!!!!!!, and you will receive a HIGH PRIORITY MESSAGE from me with that exact subject line from me giving you all the information that I have been given at the time the missing pet was posted. I may, in the meantime, be contacting the owner for any additional information that may be vital to the pet's return such as microchip info, markings, ID tags, photos, etc., and will broadcast out additional info as I receive it.

I can not sort the list to see who is in the area so everyone gets the broadcasts and you never know, those people may have friends in the area of the disappearance. I also post pictures of the missing pet if/when they are made available to me. I try to keep everyone up to date on the latest that I hear from the individuals that post or from others that notify me but sometimes people post directly to the site itself. There is no transport involved, no minutes, meetings, membership fees or anything else. This is strictly a volunteer group that I have founded and maintained, and who helps get the word out about someone's lost pet trying to help re-unite them through networking. Your email addresses stay private on my list and are not made available to anyone but me and the rest of the group.

We have had several happy endings that can be seen on our site, http://nationalmissingpetalert.bravehost.com but we need more volunteers to blanket the entire US to be effective. The more contacts we have the better. Please consider helping. If you agree to help, please email me with the subject line "Add me to the NMPAN Alert list" with your email address and location and I will add your email address to the distribution list.

Please spread the word to area animal shelters and rescues. We welcome their participation as well. The bigger we are, the more ground we can cover and the better chance people have of finding their precious pets. You really CAN make a difference and it gives you a good feeling to know that you have helped a beloved pet find its way home. If at anytime anyone feels that it has become too much, they can email me and ask to be removed from the list and I will do so with no questions asked. With the upcoming Holiday Season, please remember the rescues and shelters ... without them, where would the lost and unwanted furkids be?
