Philly area dog parks

We just finished an article on dog parks for our e-newsletter (to subscribe, go to http://www.animalalliancepa.org) Here's what we reported:

Orianna Hill Dog Park
Located in Northern Liberties on the 900 block of North Orianna Street, between 2nd and 3rd and Poplar and Wildey Streets, Orianna Hill Park is a privately owned community garden and dog run. Friends of Orianna Hill park is a 401 (c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to maintaining the park.

Seger Dog Park
Located at 10th and Lombard Streets, Seger Park is a charming urban open space that is maintained by the Department of Recreation, the Seger Advisory Council, and the community.

Mario Lanza Dog Park
Located in Queen Village on 2nd Street between Catherine and Queen Streets- Open 24 hours; this park is Fenced, with benches, tables, handicap access, lights, water, trash cans, trees, parking, beautifully landscaped; and located in friendly neighborhood.

Schuylkill River Dog Park
The Dog Owners Association is led by President Sharon Blumberg and boasts almost 150 members as of Summer 2004. Updates and events about the Dog Park are sent out in monthly e-mails by Sharon to Dog Owners

Eastern State Dog Penitentiary
The Eastern State Dog Pen is a sub-group of the non-profit organization Friends of Eastern State Penitentiary Park (FESPP). FESPP is dedicated to creating usable and attractive space along Brown and Corinthian Streets. They are an acknowledged 503
non-profit that depends on donations from individuals, companies, and government for its existence. The Dog Pen raises its own money, but a large portion of its expenses are paid by FESPP.

Pretzel Park Dog Run
This run is located at Cresson and Rector Streets, just parallel to Main Street, in Manayunk .
